Rachel Sanchez entered the DREAM50 art contest in Atlanta in October 2012. The contest is a part of the celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his infamous "I Have A Dream" speech 5o years ago. Rachel's artwork was selected as a semifinalist, and now Rachel and her family have been invited to the Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration. It will take place on January 19, 2013 at Morehouse College. Then Rachel's artwork will be on display at the High Museum of Art in February. Congratulations, Rachel!
Wildlife Contest Winners
Maya Frazier and Clara Kropp of the Museum School each won second place in the Give Wildlife a Chance statewide contest for 2013. The theme of the contest was "Everyone can be a Citizen Scientist." Maya was the second place winner for the 1st-2nd grade division and Clara was the second place winner for the Kindergarten division. They won a medal and a school calendar that displayed their artwork.
